22 Dec 17. Belgium to invest in multi-role tanker plane. Belgium will invest 258m euros (228.56m pounds) in a air-to-air refuelling plane to expand European defence capacity, the Belgium ministry of defence said on Friday. The investment will increase the number of European tanker planes to eight from seven and is part of a 2012 project to improve Europe’s capacity in this regard. The project had chosen the Airbus A330-MRTT plane, which apart from refuelling different kinds of fighter aircraft, such as the F-35 and Eurofighter models, can also be used for transporting goods and passengers. Longbow LLC, Orlando, Florida, was awarded a $103,056,024 firm-fixed-price, foreign military sales (United Kingdom) contract for Fire Control Radar Mast Mounted Assembly Refurbishment program for the United Kingdom in support of the International Apache Attack Helicopter Project Office at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. One bid was solicited with one bid received. Work will be performed in Orlando, Florida, with an estimated completion date of July 31, 2023. 22 Dec 17. Marshall Aerospace has won the contract to provide engineering services to the French Air Force fleet of 14 Lockheed Martin C-130H aircraft. The contract has been awarded by the state-owned Service Industriel de l’Aéronautique (SIAé). In terms of the contract scope, Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group will provide engineering services to SIAé to ensure the delivery of support to the French Air Force C-130H aircraft to enable improved availability. The contract involves technical services over a transition period, followed by four years of full service delivery with two additional option periods.
