16 Feb 17. KONGSBERG has signed new contracts for delivery of PROTECTOR RWS to armasuisse for approximately MNOK 130. The remote weapon system that will be delivered to armasuisse is an updated configuration with new advanced capabilities for new platforms. The PROTECTOR RWS protects military troops by allowing the vehicle’s weapons to be operated from a protected position inside the vehicle. As of today, PROTECTOR has been chosen by 18 nations and KONGSBERG is the world’s leading provider of remote weapon systems. (Source: ASD Network)

14 Feb 17. General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is being awarded $58,691,232 cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee modification P00008 to a previously awarded contract (N00030-16-C-0005) for sustainment of the US. and United Kingdom (U.K.) SSBN fire control system, the U.S. SSGN attack weapon control system, including training and support equipment, and the missile fire control for the Columbia-class and U.K. Dreadnaught-class Common Missile Compartment program development, through first unit U.K. production. Work will be performed in Pittsfield Massachusetts (90 percent); Bremerton, Washington, (3.8 percent); Kings Bay, Georgia (2.8 percent); Dahlgren, Virginia (1 percent); Cape Canaveral, Florida (1 percent); Portsmouth, Virginia (1 percent); and the United Kingdom (0.4 percent), with an expected completion date of Sept. 30, 2021. Fiscal 2017 other procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $19,429,432; fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance (Navy) funds in the amount of $17,803,365; fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $16,241,862; and U.K. funding in the amount of $5,216,573 are being obligated on this award. Funds in the amount of $17,803,365 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.

15 Feb 17. On 31 January 2017, Thales has been awarded a contract by the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization for the delivery of 14 Continuous Wave Illumination (CWI) transmitters to be integrated in the current ESSM fire control systems on-board the Absalon and Iver Huitfeldt class vessels of the Royal Danish Navy.

16 Feb 17. Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: ESLT) (“Elbit Systems”) announced today that its subsidiary, Elbit Systems of America LLC., (“Elbit Systems of America”) was awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract to provide and field mortar fire control systems for the U.S. Army. The contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. If fully ordered, the maximum value of the contract is $102m to be performed over a five-year period.

14 Feb 17. Harris has received a $403m single-award contract to continue providing communications support to the US Army. Awarded by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the contract requires the company to supply tactical radio spares and components for DLA Land and Maritime and the US Army Communications-Electronics Command. The latest five-year contract is said to be a continuation and expansion of previous contracts with the DLA. In addition to providing support to additional Harris radio families, the contract allows the army to secure spare and replacement parts necessary to support Harris’ Falcon II and III tactical radios, including AN/PRC-117G, AN/PRC-150C, AN/VRC-104, AN/PRC-152 and AN/VRC-114. 14 Feb 17. L3 Communications Sonoma EO Inc., Santa Rosa, California, was awarded a $12,957,870 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for a chemical surface detector. Bids were solicited via the Internet with six received. Work will be performed in Santa Rosa, California, with an estimated completion date of Feb. 7, 2019. Fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $1,665,000 were obligated
