02 Jan 12. BAE Systems Land & Armaments has received two contract awards
totaling more than $150m to provide RG31 and RG32M vehicles to the United
Arab Emirates and Sweden. The RG31 is a mature, combat proven mine protected armored personnel carrier designed, developed and manufactured by BAE Systems in South Africa. In total, over 2,166 RG31 vehicles have been delivered. The RG32M, which is extensively in service with the Swedish Armed Forces, has various military and non-military applications to fulfill a wide spectrum of command, liaison, scouting, patrol and peacekeeping roles. 20 Dec 11. 19”/2 computer solutions for Danish Defence Acquisition & Logistics Organization. MilDef AB in Helsingborg, Sweden, will support DALO, Danish Defence Acquisition & Logistics Organization with rugged computers and special electronics. After a thorough assessment in the market for rugged computer solutions, DALO decided to place their order for Rocky RK9 rugged computers and a complete 19”/2 system containing Computer i7 MIL, RAID HS, AC/DC and UPS with MilDef AB, Sweden. The agreement between DALO and MilDef AB was closed in December 2011 and will last for four years, until December 2014. The first deliveries to DALO will take place in January 2012.
22 Dec 11. Saab signs an extension contract for Carl-Gustaf ammunition
Defence and security company Saab has received an extension contract for ammunition to the Carl-Gustaf M3 weapon system. The order sum is MSEK 126 and deliveries will begin late 2012 and end during the first quarter 2013.

21 Dec 11. General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $191,312,737 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-09-C-2100) for continued engineering, technical services, concept studies, and design of a common missile compartment for the United Kingdom Successor SSBN and the Ohio replacement SSBN. This contract action will be incrementally funded with $23,068,087 to be obligated at the time of award. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn. (93 percent); Quonset, R.I. (3 percent); Newport News, Va. (2 percent); and Newport, R.I. (2 percent), and is expected to be completed by December 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

19 Dec 11. The Ministry of Defence has signed a new £40m contract with BAE Systems to ensure the UK retains a leading edge in the next generation of combat air systems. The four-year Future Combat Air System (FCAS) Focused Research contract aims to sustain and develop the UK’s critical technology and skills in this field. It will inform the MOD’s unmanned air system strategy over the coming decades to ensure that the best use is made of these new technologies. Following this announcement, a significant amount of the funding is expected to go to small and medium-sized enterprises across the UK, widening the supplier base and ensuring the MOD has access to the best national and international technologies.
21 Dec 11. Alenia Aeronautica sign a €25m contract for the logistic support of Bulgarian Air Force’s C-27Js. Alenia Aeronautica (a Finmeccanica company) and Bulgaria’s Defence Minister, Anyu Angelov, have signed, a few days ago, a framework agreement defining the procedures for the supply of logistic support services to the C-27J fleet of the Bulgarian Air Force, for a ten-year period, thus strengthening even more the relationship between Alenia Aeronautica and the Bulgarian customer. Within the agreement, a first contract has been signed for the supply of logistic support services, for a five-year period, worth totally €25m.
