05 May 11. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress Monday of a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the
United Kingdom of Ordnance Alteration Kits for conversion and upgrades of MK15 PHALANX Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an estimated cost of $137m. The Government of the United Kingdom (UK) has requested the sale of 20 Block 1A to Block 1B Baseline 2 configuration Ordnance Alteration Kits and 16 Block 1B Baseline 1 to Baseline 2 Ordnance Alteration Kits for conversion and upgrades of MK15 PHALANX Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), spare and repair parts, support equipment, personnel training and training equipment, publications and technical documentation, software support, U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services, and all other related elements of program support. 05 May 11. The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress of a potential sale of F-16 aircraft spare parts and services to the Hellenic Air Force. Under the estimated $100m foreign military sale, the US will provide spares and services for F-16 F100-PW-229 engines and supply modules including inlet/fan, core engine, rear compressor drive turbines, fan drive turbine, augmentor duct and nozzle, and gearbox. The sale also includes support equipment, publications and technical documentation, US Government and contractor technical, engineering, logistics support services, and other related support elements. The supply of spare parts will ensure that the air force keeps its fleet at the highest state of readiness. The sale involves various contractors. (Source: airforcetechnology.com)
10 May 11. SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica company, has recently been awarded contracts worth more than 36m Euros to carry out integrated logistic support work relating to a number of programmes and systems. These include the Company’s Grifo radar, the Eurofighter Typhoon, simulators and the Mirach aerial target drone. Of these contracts, 14.5 million Euros were awarded to SELEX Galileo to support two international air forces’s Grifo radars. Grifo is one of SELEX Galileo’s most successful products, with more than 450 sold and a combined total of more than 100,000 hours in-flight.
05 May 11. Saab has signed a new contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) regarding the support and maintenance of Helicopter 15 (Agusta 109 LUHS), operated by the Swedish Armed Forces. The contract, including options, has a potential order value of around MSEK 900 over 10 years. As part of the contract a first order intake of MSEK 350 has been registered. The contract extends over a period of 6 years beginning in 2012 with option for additional 2 years and thereafter another 2 years. (Source: Shephard)

ATK received orders totalling more than $488m for small caliber ammunition pursuant to an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island (ACC-RI). This order includes a mix of 5.56mm, 7.62mm and .50 caliber military ammunition to be produced at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Mo. ATK is the world’s leading producer of small-caliber military and commercial ammunition. The company successfully partnered with the Army to design and produce the new 5.56mm cartridge known to the U.S. warfighter as the Enhanced Performance Round (EPR).
