22 Mar 11. ITT Corporation has been awarded a contract by General Dynamics UK to supply a number of Enhanced High Capacity Data Radios (EnHCDR) in support of a recent Urgent Operational Requirement being fulfilled by the UK company for the British Armed Forces. ITT currently produces a High Capacity Data Radio (HCDR) that contributes to the data backbone for the Bowman Tactical Communications System. Under this new contract ITT will supply EnHCDRs during 2011 as the main radios for General Dynamics UK’s Modular Dismounted Operations Room (M-DOR) system that will provide fielded forces with greatly enhanced data capability. The work is being completed by the company’s U.K.-based Defence Limited subsidiary in Basingstoke and is valued at $15 million.

22 Mar 11. BAE Systems, York, Penn., was awarded on March 18 a $47,678,964 cost-reimbursement, no-fee contract. The award will provide for the procurement of Operation Desert Storm situational awareness material to be used to convert vehicles in support of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Work will be performed in York, Penn., with an estimated completion date of Oct. 31, 2012. One bid was solicited with one bid received. The U.S. Army TACOM LCMC, Contracting Center, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-10-G-0003).

21 Mar 11. DRS Technologies, Inc. received a contract valued at approximately $34.2m from the U.S. Air Force for the continuing overhaul of Tunner aircraft cargo loaders. The contract was awarded by the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center in Georgia to DRS’ Sustainment Systems, Inc. business unit in St. Louis, Missouri. For this contract, DRS will perform depot level overhaul to return the cargo loaders to a near “zero hours/zero miles” condition.

22 Mar 11. General Dynamics Robotics Systems, Westminster, Md., was awarded on March 18 a $13,641,980 time-and-materials contract. The award will provide for Phase II Joint Improvised Explosive Devices Defeat Organization’s program to develop remotely operated ground vehicle utilizing a roller to neutralize victim operated improvised explosive devices. Work will be performed in Westminster, Md., and Afghanistan, with an estimated completion date of March 30, 2012. The bid was solicited through the Internet with one bid received. The Army Research Office, Research Triangle Park, Durham, N.C., is the contracting activity (DAAD19-01-C-0066).

22 Mar 11. Oshkosh Corp., Oshkosh, Wis., is being awarded $9,700,927 for firm-fixed-price delivery order #0113 under a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (M67854-06-D-5028) to purchase 18 logistics vehicle system replacement: wrecker vehicles, Roxtec-Pass through panels, power distribution boxes, pioneer kit brackets, 400 amp alternators, wrecker front suspension upgrades, armor kits, slave valves, BoaGrip slings, and applicable shipping. Work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wis. Work for this delivery order is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Marine Corps System Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity.

21 Mar 11. Cobham has been awarded a contract from Boeing to manufacture more than 400 units for the seventh production lot of BRU-61/A
weapons carriage system capable of supporting the US Air Force’s Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) program. To date, Cobham has supplied more than 1400 carriages in support of worldwide operations.

22 Mar 11. Lockheed Martin Aeronautics has been awarded a firm-fixed-price contract modification to update the US Air Force (USAF) F-22 fleet. Under the $18.5m contract, the company will provide non-recurring labour, materials and 233 kits to update the configuration of the electronics warfare power supply on the aircraft.
