08 Oct 10. In 2009 Dytecna was the UK partner for Navistar International and provided the Integration of a range of technologies onto the ‘Husky’ vehicle to meet the UK MoD in-service requirements. This successful contract saw the whole fleet converted in the Dytecna facility within six-months. This excellent programme has been recognised by the award of a further contract in 2010 for the 2nd tranche of vehicles. The contract will be driven from the Dytecna main manufacturing site in Malvern, Worcestershire ensuring that the highly skilled workforce will be kept very busy in the coming months. This contract is a great success for Dytecna whose reputation as a first class vehicle integrator remains strong within the UK and overseas. The record established by Dytecna to work closely with vehicle OEMs in delivering high quality solutions in exacting timeframes is clearly recognised as a very desirable asset.

30 Sep 10. Engineering consultancy Frazer-Nash has been awarded a contract by Leyland Trucks Limited to manage safety case reports for three of the MoD’s vehicle systems. The MoD’s General Service Vehicles Project Team has a requirement for ongoing updates to its safety cases for the Demountable Rack Off-loading and Pick-up System (DROPS), the Heavy Recovery Vehicle and Leyland DAF Four Tonne Truck, all of which are currently in service. Frazer-Nash, using the MoD’s own hazard log software tool, will assist Leyland and the MoD in updating each vehicle system’s safety documentation in line with the newest safety and environmental policies – specifically DEF STAN 00-56 and JSP 454. This will include reassessing the environmental risks identified in the existing hazard logs.

08 Oct 10. The Dytecna facility in Fareham has been awarded a contract for Naval Ballistic Protection. Dytecna has won several contracts for removable fixed Ballistic Protection for the UK Royal Navy. Offering a modular design for ease of fitment and through life support, panels are able to be replaced when required; this product is currently proven and in use. Dytecna not only supply the solutions to such contracts but are often involved in CONDO missions in order to ensure a full service is delivered. An example of just one such product can be seen in the picture – the C-Shield™.

AIR

11 Oct 10. Air Partner has won the prestigious contract to be the sole provider of all passenger and freight air charter services for the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) for the next four years.
