07 Mar 08. ITT Corporation announced today a $939,000 contract award to provide Embedded Global Positioning System (GPS) Receivers (EGRs) and antennas for Poland’s Ministry of Defense. This Foreign Military Sales (FMS) competition was conducted by the U.S. Air Force’s Global Positioning Systems Wing at Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif. This contract will be executed by ITT’s Communications Systems headquartered in Fort Wayne, Ind., working with Hertz Systems of Poland to integrate the EGRs into Polish land forces vehicular-mounted navigation systems. The EGR utilizes ITT’s Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM). SAASM-equipped military receivers enhance the security of the GPS and allow authorized users access to the encrypted features normally reserved for military use.

29 Feb 08. Permali Gloucester Limited has been awarded a contract by the UK MOD to supply cargo handling systems for RAF Chinook helicopters. Permali teamed with Dynamic Control, who acted as a key subcontractor and provided vital expertise in the design of cargo roller conveyor systems. The system is known as CCHS (Chinook Cargo Handling System) and is optimised for the rapid delivery of cargo pallets. The RAF’s Chinook HC Mk2/2a aircraft undertake vital resupply missions in Afghanistan in support of UK and allied forces, often in high-threat areas.
