13 May 25. EKA Limited, a leading provider of special to role military vehicle systems, has been awarded a multi-million-pound contract by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to deliver specialist safety and environmental support services for the UK MOD’s fleet of Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) and their supporting Repair and Recovery Vehicles (RRVs). The contract, which begins in late April 2025 will initially run for three years, with options to extend based on future requirements. It covers the growing fleet of vehicles, both launchers and recovery vehicles – and marks a key milestone in EKA’s continued growth and diversification strategy.

15 May 25. Serco, the international provider of critical government services, has been awarded three contracts with a combined value of over £1bn by the UK Ministry of Defence to provide maritime services for the Royal Navy. The contracts, which replace existing services and expand into new capabilities will commence later this year. Serco has been a key partner to the Royal Navy for nearly 30 years, providing critical services supporting military training exercises, trialling new maritime technology and assisting the movements of Royal Navy ships in and out of harbour. The three awarded contracts are:
- A contract valued at c.£850m over ten years for the delivery of in-port services for HMNB Devonport in Plymouth, HMNB Portsmouth and for the Clyde, including HMNB Faslane. This includes the procurement of 24 new vessels on behalf of the Royal Navy which will be brought into service over the next decade to modernise the fleet and replace the older vessels currently operated. Services will include vessel towage, passenger transfer, and barge and tank cleaning services at Portsmouth and Devonport.
- A contract valued at c.£70m over five years for the provision of inshore support to military training and exercises at the British Underwater Test and Evaluation (BUTEC), an underwater military test and evaluation range off the northwest coast of Scotland and for Diver Training Support. In addition, the contract includes new work for Range Safety and Aircrew Training, which we will deliver in partnership with Briggs Marine.
- A ten-year contract valued at c.£110m for the provision of offshore support to military training and exercises. This service includes two specialist ocean-going vessels for regional and worldwide support.

12 May 25. Rolls-Royce will maintain and service EJ200 engines to power the Eurofighter Typhoon multirole aircraft in service with the UK Royal Air Force (RAF). The contract, known as the Typhoon Engine Support Solution (TESS), valued at more than half a billion pounds, granted by the Ministry of Defence on 8 May 2025, will see the British defence prime repair 130 engines over a five-year period at its headquarters in Bristol. According to GlobalData intelligence derived from the ‘United Kingdom Defense Market, 2025-2030’ report, there are 159 Typhoons in active service. 12 May 25. Royal Navy extends Systematic MTF contract for five years. Systematic specialists continue to work at the heart of military messaging software. The UK’s Royal Navy (RN) has awarded Systematic a five-year extension for the ongoing support for leadership of the development of Message Text Formats (MTFs) and production of the NATO Message Catalogue (APP-11). The 407 message formats in the latest edition of the catalogue cover the full spectrum of warfare from strategic, through mission tasking, CBRN warning and reporting, right down to individual units making routine logistics requests. The format makes them suitable for use in narrow bandwidth and satellite-denied environments, while still allowing human and computer processing. The RN’s Navy Digital team are the designated custodian of APP-11 on behalf of NATO. As Custodian, the RN is responsible for producing the catalogue which is distributed to every operational unit in the alliance. Contracting Systematic allows the RN to discharge this responsibility with confidence.

13 May 25. IDV has been awarded, by the Materiel and IT Command (COMMIT) of the Dutch Ministry of Defence, the WTB tender for the supply and logistic support of 785 military logistic trucks. The trucks will enhance the capabilities of the Dutch Armed Forces and will be delivered between 2027 and 2029. Under the terms of the supply contract, IDV will deliver 8×8 and 6×6 military trucks in three versions: Semitrailer Tractor, Recovery, and Hook-lift, either with protected or unprotected cabs, characterized by exceptional mobility, maneuverability, and reliability, ensuring logistical commonality across different platforms and many other EU member states. The contract includes an optional tranche of additional 785 vehicles and the integrated logistic support for a minimum period of 15 years. This new award marks another important milestone in the ongoing partnership between IDV and the Dutch Ministry of Defence, following the successful 12kN Manticore Project, which resulted in the order of 1,283 MTV vehicles (Multirole Tactical Vehicle). IDV confirms itself as a trusted partner of the Dutch Armed Forces, reaffirming its position as a leading manufacturer of land military platforms in Europe.
12 May 25. Nammo – The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has awarded a contract, worth Skr1.8bn ($185.8m), to Norwegian-Finnish defence firm Nammo to supply small-calibre ammunition. The FMV also placed an order with Norma for Skr1.4bn worth fine-calibre ammunition. 16 May 25. The government of Poland has signed a framework agreement for the delivery of more than 10,000 Warmate loitering drones. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz signed the important contract with the Armament Agency and WB Electronics SA for deployment to the Polish Army in Warsaw on 15 May. The Warmate loitering ammunition is designed as a standalone system, carried by soldiers or as a vehicle armament, to identify and destroy lightly armoured targets or enemy infantry. The system is equipped with control modules that allow full automation of most flight phases and support the operator in the targeting phase. 15 May 25. Filtronic plc (AIM: FTC), the designer and manufacturer of products for the aerospace, defence, space and telecoms infrastructure markets, is pleased to announce a new contract win to develop and supply advanced filter and diplexer assemblies to Airbus Defence and Space, for the supply of additional satellites to Eutelsat OneWeb. The contract, which will see Filtronic deliver flight sets for payload integration in calendar year 2026, will support the expansion of the Eutelsat OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (“LEO”) satellite constellation. This initial contract is of a significant value with potential order flow expected for the remainder of the constellation rollout. The assemblies will be produced in-house at Filtronic’s advanced facility in Sedgefield where the team will also oversee the qualification process to ensure compliance with space environment specifications.
14 May 25. ICEYE, the global leader in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite operations, today signed an agreement with the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Poland to deliver the Polish Armed Forces with an initial batch of three ICEYE SAR satellites, and an option to purchase three more satellites and additional ground segment capabilities in the next 12 months, under the Polish Armed Forces’ MikroSAR program. As part of the agreement, ICEYE will also partner with local industry to provide the Polish Armed Forces with a mobile Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform that provides near real-time tasking, data downloads, and analysis. The total value of the agreement is approximately €200 m. The implementation of the agreement commences immediately. This agreement further solidifies ICEYE’s position as the leading provider of SAR satellites for military and civilian applications worldwide. 14 May 25. Quantum Systems has announced that the Spanish Armed Forces have procured two different systems from the cutting-edge Family of Systems – Vector and Twister – making the Spanish Armed Forces the first customer to embrace Quantum Systems’ full-spectrum Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. The Spanish Armed Forces and Quantum Systems have signed a framework agreement through which the Spanish Armed Forces will receive new medium range reconnaissance capabilities, with a landmark order of 91 Vector systems, comprising 182 drones. Vector will be deployed for ISR missions across the Spanish Armed Forces, offering endurance, reliability, and mission flexibility. Vector will find its initial users with the Spanish Army (Ejército de Tierra) and the Spanish Marine Infantry (Infantería de Marina). Deliveries of the first systems will already begin in 2025. RTX – The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Republic of Türkiye of AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles and related elements of logistics and program support for an estimated cost of $225 m. 12 May 25. Patria-led Artificial Intelligence Warfare Adaptive Swarm Platform to receive €45m in EU funding to reinforce Europe’s defence capabilities. Patria will lead an industry consortium for the new joint Artificial Intelligence Warfare Adaptive Swarm Platform (AI-WASP) programme, which will develop a new generation, scalable and cognitive (AI-controlled) multifunctional software defined converged aperture and transceiver (AIMA). Across all domains, our militaries need relevant situational awareness, communications systems that can perform ad hoc networking in dynamically evolving tactical situations and ability to conduct electronic protection and attack. Incorporating secure communication, radio frequency surveillance and electronic attack capabilities in a single airborne radio frequency payload, will enhance Europe’s defence readiness in the modern multi-dimensional warfighting environment. AI-WASP is intended for use in manned and unmanned autonomous platforms of various sizes and operational environments, including arctic conditions. Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Italy, Greece, and Spain have thrown their weight behind the programme, signing a Letter of Intent to join the development of the AI-powered warfare adaptive swarm platform. 13 May 25. Elbit Systems Ltd has been awarded a contract worth approximately $80m by an international customer to upgrade reconnaissance helicopters. The upgrade package includes advanced avionics and ISTAR solutions, enhancing the helicopters’ operational capabilities. The contract will be executed over a period of two years.
12 May 25. H&B Defence – a joint venture between HII and Babcock – has secured its first contract to enhance supply chain capabilities for the global AUKUS enterprise through the Australian Submarine Supplier Qualification Pilot Program. Formalising its role as the delivery partner for HII’s initial A$9.6M contract with the Australian Government, the joint venture will lead a nationwide qualification process over the next two years to identify Australian suppliers with the requisite skills and products to support the Virginia-class submarine and aircraft carrier build programmes at Newport News Shipbuilding in the US.
13 May 25. The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the United Arab Emirates of F-16 Sustainment and related equipment for an estimated cost of $130 m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today. The Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has requested to buy additional F-16 aircraft components, spares, and accessories; and other related elements of logistics and program support that will be added to a previously implemented case whose value was below the congressional notification threshold. The original Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case, valued at $40.9m ($0 in MDE), included Common Munitions Built-in-Test Reprogramming Equipment (CMBRE); munitions support equipment; night vision device (NVD) support and spare equipment; spare parts, consumables and accessories; repair and return support; classified and unclassified software delivery and support; classified and unclassified publications and technical documentation; site surveys; studies and surveys; transportation support; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services.
